Description
Sima Doshi, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery. She is dedicated to restoring and enhancing vision through a patient-centered approach that blends cutting-edge technology with personalized, compassionate care. With expertise in both medical and surgical treatments, Dr. Doshi offers a wide range of advanced procedures, including LASIK and PRK, femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, corneal transplants (PK and DSAEK), corneal crosslinking for keratoconus, and treatment of pterygium and other ocular surface conditions.
Dr. Doshi earned her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she developed a strong foundation in innovation and precision. She then completed her medical degree and Master’s in Surgery at McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal. Dr. Doshi went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. She then pursued a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at New York University and North Shore University Hospital.
Committed to excellence in her field, Dr. Doshi has contributed to numerous publications and multicenter clinical trials focusing on corneal disease, dry eye, and refractive surgery. She has also played a role in the education of future ophthalmologists, participating in the clinical training of residents. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
